It’s another amazing week on American Idol Season 9, as the top 6 contestants sing Shania Twain’s catalogue. Shania Twain, who at the same time being a mentor of the top 6, was also the guest judge during the audition process of the American Idol. She really did a great job and gave the contestants the criticism they all need. Shania was really able to make the top 6 bring out their best.
All the contestants did really good performance. I think to send one home was indeed a very tough decision from all the judges. The top 6 showed that they are all good. That’s the only reason, I think, that they all made it this far. Everyone proved that they have the reason to remain in the top 6 of American Idol Season 9.
But of course, after the best night of performance from the Idol contestants, it’s again time to announce who will be leaving. Mike, Casey and Siobhan landed in the bottom 3. Mike was sent to safety which left Casey and Siobhan the remaining contestant to be in the bottom 2. When Ryan gave the news on who gets to be eliminated, it was bad news for Siobhan Magnus because it was her time to leave the show.
Siobhan Magnus, the girl who was best known for her loud screams at the end of her songs was the one eliminated from the competition. I felt bad to see her go. She has talent, though not everyone’s taste, but for me she was one of the best singers in the competition.
Siobhan was so amazing when she sang “Any Man of Mine”. She’s really unique and different from all the other contestants. Not everyone can sing the songs as good as Siobhan did. She definitely sang on key and she sang well that night. I don’t know why the judges voted against her. I think American Idol needs to revamp its judging process and should publish the vote count.
I was so disappointed with the result, having Siobhan leaving the competition. She has great personality and that she can really sing. Even if she didn’t make it to the top 5, I have a good feeling that she will have a bright future in the music industry. I know winning is not everything. What’s more important is that Siobhan really worked hard for it and did her best. It’ doesn’t matter if she lost, as long as she really gave it her all. In all that has happened, I still consider her a winner.
American Idol will be one step closer to the season finale. I wonder what will happen next week? It’s hard for me to imagine any of the remaining top 5 contestants singing Frank Sinatra’s songs. But I guess that’s what makes a great champion… being able to do what’s necessary to win.
