For those of you who loved Carly Smithson’s auditions, or for those of you who want to know the secret’s behind her ’second chance’ (!), AIF brings you this expose of her recent past.


We’ll leave it to you to tell us whether this matters or not – at least it gives those of you who are already fans a chance to pick up some of her early material (really cheaply too!)

David Archuleta is only 16 years old. What’s more, this isn’t the first time he’s found success on a TV talent show. He was successful in Star Search back at the tender age of 12!


Bound to appeal to the younger generation of American Idol fans, David’s audition in San Diego showed us what he is capable of:

Kady Malloy is an incredibly talented singer, with an ability to sound just like Britney Spears!


For a minute it looked like the singer might blow her audition by not sounding original enough (though noone could have denied she obviously has talent…). But that all changed when she did a version of Unchained Melody, and simply blew everyone away!


(Good tip to bear in mind if you’re auditioning that – if you’re asked to sing something as “you”, and you’re a girl, then sing a man’s song (and vice versa…))


Anyway, here’s the clip:

Joey Catalano auditioned in the Philadelphia round of auditions, and impressed the judges so much that he earnt himself a ticket to the Hollywood rounds!
