For those of you who loved Carly Smithson’s auditions, or for those of you who want to know the secret’s behind her ’second chance’ (!), AIF brings you this expose of her recent past.


We’ll leave it to you to tell us whether this matters or not – at least it gives those of you who are already fans a chance to pick up some of her early material (really cheaply too!)

OK, so it’s not particularly scientific, but checking through the search requests that are bringing you fine people to this site, we can already see a couple of contestants jumping to the foreground.


At the moment, the most searched for auditionee is Jason Castro, with 2.7% of all visitors to this site looking for information on him. Next most popular is Amy Davis, and Marsha Hancock is also in the front running.


Perhaps understandably, the talk about Carly Hennessy’s previous single releases has also generated some interest, although we are yet to actually discover a copy of the record for you all to check out.


We’ll be posting a poll up early next week to get your views on the first batch of auditionees through to the Hollywood stages – let us know which American Idol Contestant you are backing right from the start, and we’ll see who was right come the grand finale!

So, we’ve seen the first couple of audition shows now, and we here at American Idol Fan have to say we’ve enjoyed what we’ve seen so far!



There’s been the usual share of crazy auditionees (that Egyption guy anyone? ;-P ), but also some very very promising singers in there as well.
One of the standouts has to be 23 year-old Kristy Lee Cook, who alledgedly sold her favorite horse to attend the Philadelphia Auditions. The singer really impressed judges and fans, but then the rumors started coming out.


It turns out that Ms. Cook was signed to Arista Nashville records, and was once set to release material through Britney Spears’ production company (Britney was even going to appear in one of her videos!).


Other ‘undiscovered’ talent from this series so far includes Jermaine Paul who has already been nominated for a Grammy award in the past (!), and Carly Hennessy, who has even released her own solo record, Ultimate High.
